Patents & utility models
- Leiterplattengehäusevorrichtung (printed-circuit-board housing device) — German patent DE 10 2020 128 143, granted by the DPMA in January 2026, patent specification published 2026. Filed 2020. DPMAregister entry. The enclosureless-PCB concept behind it is described in my writing on enclosureless PCB design.
- Leiterplatten-Gehäuse mit integrierter Sensorik — German utility model (Gebrauchsmuster, DPMA) parallel to the patent above; in force, renewed 2026.
- Bodenfeuchtesensor (soil-moisture sensor) — German utility model (Gebrauchsmuster, DPMA), filed 2023; deliberately allowed to lapse in 2026.
- OmnAIScope — German national phase of a PCT application (filed 2019, examination ongoing at the DPMA) covering the OmnAI automotive measurement scope developed with Auto-Intern GmbH.
German utility models are registered but not published the way patents are; verify via the DPMA’s DEPATISnet search.
Trademarks
- OmnAI — trademark of Auto-Intern GmbH (international registration via the Madrid system): registered in Russia (2026); US application Serial 79411509 under examination at the USPTO. Role: co-developer of the OmnAI product line, trademark strategy together with Auto-Intern.
Open-source software
Selected projects, with my role:
- skunkforce/edgy_boards — open hardware: single-function PCB modules on a standard edge connector. Author and maintainer.
- omnai-project/OmnAIView — time-series visualisation front end for OmnAI DAQ devices. Project lead.
- STEMgraph — graph-structured, self-contained engineering exercises used in my teaching. Founder and maintainer.
- MaxClerkwell/ax7020-bringup — mainline U-Boot bring-up of the ALINX AX7020 over JTAG and Ethernet. Author.
- kvasir-io/Kvasir — C++ metaprogramming library for zero-cost register abstraction in embedded software. Contributor (project by Odin Holmes).
